Minutes from the Monthly Meeting of the
Doylestown Business & Community Alliance
Held December 13, 2005 8:00 a.m.
Pine Run Community Center
OPENING REMARKS by Pam Mikula, Past President
GUEST SPEAKER – Tom Jarrett, President of Borough
Council spoke on some of the problems in the downtown area caused by the
high number of teens in town. Up to 350 teens congregate in town, with
the number rising when school opens. The incoming council needs our help
with this issue. The Borough will need 10 part time officers and cameras
may be put up around town. There will be a public safety meeting once
a month to address this issue. The courthouse is moving at "glacial speed".
It will be 5 stories high, located across from the existing courthouse. Parking
will be constructed on the dairy site.
Flower baskets will be planted as usual
this year in the Del Val greenhouse, but we will need to build a greenhouse at
an estimated cost of $50,000 for the 2007 plantings.
GIFT: Rick Kempes presented Pam Mikula with a gift
for her services as president this past year.
