Doylestown Fall Arts Festival



Minutes from the Monthly Meeting of the
Doylestown Business & Community Alliance
Held December 14, 2004 8:00 a.m.
Pine Run Community Center

Pam Mikula, as new President, gave the opening welcome and introductions with Vice President Barbara Gross.

Kathy Krick represented Pine Run with a very warm welcome to us all. Thank you for inviting us to this beautiful community.

Treasurers’ Report
Lynn Phelps announced revenues of $82,233.32 and expenditures of $65,146.40. Expenditures do not include the bill for Flower baskets and Holiday decorations, which are yet to be paid. Our operating account has a balance of $17,086.92.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Holiday
Bobby Newton, as Chairperson, gave the report. Everything was great! The dreidel is still under construction and will not be displayed until next holiday season. A GIANT thank you to everyone involved in the project.

Membership
Jack Mikula and Barbara Gross gave report. Their goal is to make members more active in the DBCA.

5K Race
Don Raskin will be co-chairing the race with Brian Boger this year.

Merchants
Judy Dixon presented. Midnight Magic probably could have achieved better outcome if weather cooperated. The organization will concentrate on becoming more active and stronger.

Publicity
Linda Brinker, the committee chair, is looking to expand and make the DBCA more visible as an organization.

Fall Arts Festival
First committee meeting is this evening. They will choose a date to hold the event in 2005. This year’s festival had a very successful turnout despite Saturday’s cancellation due to rain.
Total Income: $31,544.39
Total Expenses: $19,790.75
BALANCE: $30,525.65 (as of Oct 4, 2004)
Leslie Bilotta will be responsible for the DBCA’s booth at the Arts Fest next year. She will be calling members to volunteer when the time comes.

NEW BUSINESS
Linda Plank informed us of the GO RED event, which recognizes heart disease. It will be held on February 4th at Doylestown Hospital.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Dec. 15 - GRAND OPENING OF 77 West Court Street, 4-8 pm
Jan. 9 – De-decorating Doylestown! 9am Starbucks Parking Lot. Please bring a ladder, wire cutters and a friend to help take down the holiday decorations. WE NEED LOTS OF HELP!

NEXT MEETING – Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at Borough Hall. Guest Speaker: Twilight Wish Foundation, granting wishes to senior citizens (www.twilightwishfoundation.org)

There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
