APPROVAL OF MINUTES – With no objections, minutes from the January meeting were approved.

TREASURER’S REPORT - Sal LoCicero reported the cash balance as of 01/31/05 was $17,785.93. Unpaid invoices include at least $6,000 for the holiday decorations and approximately an additional $6,000 for the hanging baskets.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Holiday – We are still waiting to hear if we’ll receive a discount on the kissing balls due to the wrong type of berries being shipped. Ken Hackman is researching the purchasing of a trailer for storage.

Membership – Barbara Gross reported the she, Jack Mikula and Pam Mikula have been visiting area businesses to discuss membership. The deadline for membership that includes map listing is March 1, 2005.

5K Race - Dan Raskin said planning is going well.

Merchants - Judy Dixon reported that First Fridays in Doylestown is still being explored.

Publicity – Linda Brinker reported the committee has not met yet but will follow up with the DBCA.

Fall Arts Festival - Nothing new to report at this time.

Visitors Guide - Rick Kempes reports the geographical extension of the map is going well.

Flowering Baskets – Patty White of Geerling’s Garden Center will be chairing this committee again in 2005. Planting and hanging dates will be announced shortly and posted on the website.

NEW BUSINESS
To save money, the board has looked into other options for our Annual Cocktail Party in June, usually held at Fonthill. Although we love having it there, we must look into ways to cut some costs. Generously, Third Federal Bank has agreed to host the event this year at their Doylestown branch at 60 N. Main Street. Date to be announced.

We also discussed our need for fundraisers this year. Pam asked that people please contact her if they have any ideas or experience with holding fundraisers.

GUEST SPEAKER – PEARL S. BUCK INTERNATIONAL, Tony Luna
Tony shared some great information with us, particularly about how the organization is working locally, not just internationally. Learn more online at www.pearl-s-buck.org.
