COMMITTEE REPORTS
Holiday
The holiday decorations came down on Sunday, March 8. The event was very organized and everything went well. The key is getting many volunteers and it was very well organized.
Arts Festival - Rich Slabinski
The arts festival committee has a meeting today at Saxby’s coffee at 5:30. Lots of good applications are coming in and we don’t see having any problems filling up the show.
The arts festival is our biggest fundraiser and helps support all of our programs.
Time wise this year we are ahead of schedule.
Shop Local – Ellen Mager
The shop local decals are done and have been distributed. You will start to see them in the windows around town. We are up to 48 merchants participating in the shop local program. If you need a new decal for your window please email Ellen at ellensbooks@gmail.com or call 215-348-7160
We have extended the date to keep the fundraiser jars out to collect money for the library for the Women’s Place.
Membership – Nurit Bland
Memberships are still coming in.
At our last Board meeting we asked Bill James to see where we stand with memberships vs. last year membership drive. We are down from last year by 59%. We will find other way to make up the money. 5K sponsors have doubled from last year and we should be in good shape if we hit our numbers with the arts festival.
5K – Nancy Taylor
The 5K race will be held on Saturday, May 23. The start is at Mt. Carmel Church and ends with the award ceremony at Star Park behind Puck’s restaurant.
We need volunteers to help with the race.
Memorial Day Parade – Nurit Bland
The DBCA will be in the Memorial Day Parade and will do something to mark our 25th anniversary. If you are interested in helping with this or helping with the parade, please contact Nurit Bland.
DBCA Liaison – No update
New Business - Rich Slabinski
Matt Caffrey, Rick Kempes, Margie Adamsky and Rich Slabinski will meet to discuss the planning for the new board next year.
We are in need of a publicity person to communicate with the newspapers and get press releases out regarding our organization and events. Many people are unaware what the DBCA does and mistakes the program that we run as the Boroughs. If anyone is interested in filing this position, please get in touch with Rich Slabinski.
Old Business – No update.
Meeting adjourned at 8:40
